Rental equipment guidelines
As a CityWest customer, you have the option to rent equipment to access TV, Internet and phone services. We are happy to provide our customers with reasonably-priced equipment, such as set top boxes for digital and optical TV, modems for Internet and home phone (in Kitimat and Terrace), and Gigacenters for our fibre customers in Smithers.
To be able to enjoy our services, there are a few terms our customers should understand when they rent equipment from CityWest.
First and foremost, rental equipment remains the property of CityWest, and paying for rental equipment does not constitute ownership. Therefore, if you disconnect services from CityWest, and you have rental equipment, you must return the equipment to us.
If the rental equipment is not returned, we will bill your account the cost of the equipment, plus taxes. If you return the equipment wihtin 90 days, a credit will be issued for the full amount billed. If the equipment is returned after the 90-day period, a restocking charge will apply.
