Starting April 2017 we're providing our digital customers with an improved wireless experience. Customer with Quantum 50 and 125 Internet services can now rent a wireless router directly from us for $2.50/month to improve their wireless experience.

The modem bridges the gap between your home network and your Internet service provider. It sends, receives, and converts data so you can use the Internet.
The router routes your Internet connection from one physical connection to multiple devices, letting your devices have access to both the Internet and eachother. The router also adds protection to your devices because they aren't directly exposed to the Internet.
