Notice of Proposed Rate Increase

Under the terms of CRTC Decision 2009-788, CityWest has applied to the CRTC to implement a rate increase effective March 1, 2010.  The proposed increase will affect the following business telephone lines:                                                                                           

Individual Business Line
Business Fax Line
Business Digby Line
Business 800 Service Line
Off Premise Business Line
Payphones

If approved, these business lines will increase from a monthly rate of $37.88 per month to $42.88 per month.  CityWest has not increased the business line rate in Prince Rupert since June 2007.  The proposed new rate for Prince Rupert will still be considerably lower than the rates charged in neighboring communities.  For example a business line in Terrace costs $74.61 per month.   

We have also applied to increase the data line rate from $42.05 per month to $45.45 per month.

The new rates will be implemented on April statements which covers telephone charges for the month of March.
