“Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Association is extremely grateful for the ongoing support CityWest has provided over the years. Our organization wouldn’t succeed if it wasn’t for the generosity of the business community and as such, children in Prince Rupert have benefited from CityWest’s corporate citizenship.”

CityWest Community Television to Re-Broadcast Provincial Election Debates
Posted: May 04, 2017
PRINCE RUPERT/TERRACE/KITIMAT – As British Columbia moves closer to election day on May 9, CityWest Community Television has decided to re-broadcast the local election debates that occurred in Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Kitimat.
The debates will be re-broadcast on channel 310 (HD) and channel 10 on Sunday, May 7, from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“Part of the reason we’re doing this is because we had tremendous viewership for the debates,” says Devin Wall, Community Channel Manager. “People in the North seem to be very interested in political television, so we’ll bring it to them.”
The three debates originally aired at the end of April, resulting in over 500 hours of viewing time on channels 310 and 10. As well, almost 600 online views were recorded on the community channel’s website, at http://www.cwcommunitytv.ca/
On top of that, for the first time ever, CityWest Community Television broadcast the debates on Facebook Live. There were over 3,000 views of the debates on the platform, which ultimately reached over 9,000 Facebook viewers.
“It was great to see the high viewership numbers on Facebook, as well as the lively political discussion in the comments section,” said Chris Armstrong, Director of Marketing. “We were honoured that we could play a role in the political discussion around the North.”
While CityWest is politically neutral, the company still encourages all residents of the North to vote in the provincial election on May 9.
