CityWest Launches “Double Your Donation” Campaign for Shames Mountain

Posted: February 17, 2017

TERRACE – CityWest wants to help Shames Mountain buy a new snowcat, and it’s asking its customers for a bit of help.

From now until March 31, CityWest will match any donation its customers make to Shames Mountain, up to $5,000. The donation will help My Mountain Co-op, the non-profit organization that runs the skill hill, raise money for a new snowcat.

“Shames Mountain is a jewel in Northern B.C., and it’s especially important for the communities of skiers and snowboarders in our communities,” says Chris Armstrong, Director of Marketing at CityWest. “Many of our customers, including our staff, are avid skiers and boarders, so it’s a natural fit for us to partner up to help Shames raise the money it needs.”

The new snowcat will groom runs, build roads, and clear lift lines in a more efficient and safer manner. “A new snowcat is vital to our future,” says Christian Theberge, General Manager at Shames Mountain. “A new one will bring better skiing for our community, and many more successful winters.”

To make the donation, customers can simply ask for any amount to appear on their account, or they can make a donation with a credit card, cash, or cheque at any CityWest storefront. Or, they can fill out an online donation form on the CityWest website, here: www.citywest.ca/promotions/double-your-donation

At the end of March, CityWest will determine the total amount donated, and then double it, up to $5,000. The full donation will be made within the first two weeks of April, and will be publicized on the CityWest website and Facebook page.

My wife and I have lived in five different homes in Rupert over the years, and every single installation was handled in a very efficient and expedient fashion and it was always done by someone that we knew as a fellow Rupertite. The installation always took place on the day that we moved into the house and we continued to be very impressed by that consistent level of service. On occasion, there have been times when power interruptions and storms have caused some problems; but it has always been evident to me that my fellow Rupertites who are the employees of CityWest have our best interests in heart as far as getting the service back on line and functioning as soon as is possible
