CityWest to Launch Services in New Hazelton and Lake Kathlyn

Posted: April 03, 2017

CityWest is proud to announce a partnership with the British Columbia government to provide over 1,100 households and businesses in New Hazelton and Lake Kathlyn residents with Internet, Television, and phone services.

CityWest will invest over $1.93 million towards the projects along with an $828,000 investment from the BC government, administered by the Northern Development Initiative Trust.

“We’re investing more than $828,000 to help CityWest bring broadband to more than 1,100 residences and businesses in the North,” said Donna Barnett, Minister of State for Rural Economic Development. “The Connecting British Columbia program is one of the many ways the Rural Economic Development Strategy supports rural communities. It is expected to create over 26,000 jobs and add $2.8 billion to provincial GDP.”

“We’ll be able to provide residents of Lake Kathlyn and New Hazelton with the same great experience we give to all our customers in all our communities,” said Donovan Dias, CityWest’s VP of Sales & Project Management.

The project has already begun construction in New Hazelton and is set to begin later this year in Lake Kathlyn, connecting the two communities to CityWest’s Northern network.

I’d like to thank CityWest for their awesome service today. I have been having phone problems for about 2 weeks. I finally called them last week and got an appointment for today. They came out and fixed the problem for me.
