KITIMAT – Today, CityWest officially reopens its storefront in Kitimat, and they’re celebrating the event with a customer appreciation barbecue outside its office in the industrial area.
The storefront has been open most days since the beginning of April, and today marks the official beginning of operations. Going forward, CityWest plans to have the office open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, with a break for lunch from 1-2 p.m.
“We have noticed how the economic conditions are improving in Kitimat, and we thought this would be a great time to re-open our storefront and provide the community with an improved customer experience,” says Tina Lussier, Vice President, Customer Service at CityWest.
The storefront, located at 172 5th Street, will be staffed by a customer service representative, who will be able to provide all regular CityWest services, including account changes, installation, billing inquiries, and, of course, friendly smiles. “We invite anyone to come into our storefront to check out the great Internet, digital TV, and phone products we have to offer,” says Lussier.
Helping out at the barbecue, which is on from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. today, is the Kitimat Humane Society, whose members will be serving food to anyone interested in a burger or hot dog. All funds raised by the barbecue will be going straight to the Society.
“It’s organizations like the Kitimat Humane Society that contribute to the health of communities like Kitimat, and we’re very happy to partner with them for our celebration,” said Chris Marett, CEO of CityWest.
Over the last five years, CityWest has spent over $3 million in capital investments in Kitimat, which went towards upgrading its network to ensure customers continued to get a great experience.
The company has also invested more money into its community channel, which now has its own space, right next door to the main CityWest office in Kitimat. Community TV Manager Devin Wall says the move will allow the channel to bring even better programming to the North. “It’s been great having our headquarters in Kitimat, and we’re as excited as the rest of the community to see what the future brings,” says Wall.
CityWest looks forward to meeting more members of the community of Kitimat as the company continues to find ways to bring great customer experiences to residences and businesses across the Northwest.
