Virtual Events this Summer

A lot of major events have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19. However, some local events have found a new format. CityWest Community Television has partnered with various groups to film and broadcast local events. Here's everything to look for in the coming weeks. Tune in on channels 310HD and 10SD.

Charles Hayes Graduation

Airing on: June 12th at 7 pm

Prince Rupert graduates have already taken the stage to receive their diplomas. Tune in to see the pre-recorded, socially distanced graduation ceremony. The video will be released on Facebook at 10 pm Friday night.

Caledonia Graduation

Airing on: June 19th at 7 pm

Watch Terrace's class of 2020 receive their diplomas. The ceremony was safely pre-recorded with small groups of students. It has now been edited into a seamless ceremony.

Mount Elizabeth Secondary School Graduation

Airing on: June 24th at 7 pm

Kitimat's graduating class will take the virtual stage the week following Terrace. The Mount Elizabeth pared grad committee is also hosting a parade prior to the virtual ceremony on June 19. Graduates will drive around Kitimat in a convoy during the parade.

Hazelton Secondary School Graduation

Airing on: June 26th 7 pm

Just like Kitimat and Terrace, Hazelton's graduation will be filmed and broadcast in the same fashion. This is the first year that CityWest Community Television has filmed Hazelton Secondary's graduation.

Virtual Seafest Parade

Airing on: June 27th at 11 am

The Prince Rupert Special Events Society has team up with CityWest Community Television to bring a virtual Seafest Parade. We'll hear from local businesses and community organizations that would have participated in the parade. In lieu of a parade float going down 3rd Avenue West, we'll see creative video submissions along the theme "The Tide is Turning."
