CityWest shortlisted for national award

Posted: May 07, 2018

Nationwide voting is underway for ‘Tuned-in Canada: the CCSA Awards’ and CityWest, whose head office is located in Prince Rupert (BC), has been shortlisted for two awards.

Tuned-in Canada: The CCSA Awards is a project sponsored by the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA) and is designed to spotlight the great work performed by CCSA members - local, independent providers of internet, television and telephone services in communities across Canada.

CityWest is up against three other nominees in the categories of "Best photo: what does connecting Canada mean to your company?" and "Best people: on-camera community channel personality."  If they are the winner, the $1,000 prize for their category will be donated to a local charity of their choice.

“The CCSA has been running the awards since 2014, and has provided more than $30,000 to winning companies, who in turn have donated their winnings back to the communities where they live and work,” said Jay Thomson, CEO of CCSA. “We hope the citizens of Prince Rupert and surrounding areas will embrace the community spirit at the heart of this friendly competition and bring out the vote to support their local nominee, CityWest.”

Nationwide online voting is open at Tuned-in Canada 2018. Voting takes place using Facebook authentication and voters can cast one vote per day until May 11th at midnight (Atlantic Daylight Time). The winners will be announced on May 23rd. (Click here to vote.)

“We’re proud that our community channel has been nominated for an award,” said Devin Wall, Community Channel manager at CityWest. “All of our workers and volunteers work very hard to put out good-quality work, and Charlie Meek is one of the most professional and well-respected people in the community of Terrace.”

Centennial Christian School would like to thank CityWest for providing Internet access for 2016 BC Provincial Boys A Volleyball Championships Nov 24-26, 2016 hosted in Terrace, BC! The event took place at two separate venues with 12 teams coming from all over the province. Players, coaches and fans appreciated the wireless access. The network worked flawlessly, with over 450 wireless devices and 190G of data usage over the three day event. Thank you for your great technical service and support for the event!
