High-speed fibre-optic Internet is coming to Salmo through the Connect the Basin project by Columbia Basin Trust. This initiative will bring modern fibre infrastructure to the community, supporting faster and more reliable connectivity for homes and businesses.
The project is currently in the permitting stage, and construction will begin once approvals are finalized. Columbia Basin Trust is responsible for building the fibre network, which will then be operated by CityWest.
As the project progresses, households will be contacted directly when it’s time to grant permission for a fibre connection to their home.
As part of the construction phase for many of our projects, we will install an underground “drop” – which is a buried fibre-optic cable that runs from the street to your home or business, making it ready for fibre services.
