If you are not getting a dial tone on your phone, follow these steps:
- Confirm there is power going to the EMTA (the box connected to your phone) by looking at the “Power” light. If it is lit, go to step 2. If it is not lit, plug it in and try it again.
- Ensure the phone cable is securely connected both in the phone and in the EMTA.
- Try using a different phone to see if it works. If it does, then the problem is the original phone.
- Confirm the “Tel 1” and “Tel 2” lights are lit up. If they are lit up and you still do not have dial tone, reset the EMTA using the “Reset” button at the back of the box. Use a pen and push gently on the button. As soon as the LED lights on the front go off, release the button. The reset process should take less than 10 minutes.
